Cialis Maker Eli Lilly's CEO Is Likely To Retire Soon

After working with the maker of the erectile dysfunction drug Cialis (i.e.Eli Lilly) as its chief executive officer (CEO) since July 1998, it now appears that Sidney Taurel, the company's current chief executive officer is planning to embrace retirement in March 2008. On being questioned on his retirement, the 58 -year-old chief executive of Eli Lilly made it clear that he has decided to retire as the company is currently in good status and is equipped with a capable successor to replace him.

Along with the news on Sidney Taurel`s retirement, it has also become known that Eli Lilly's second executive, President as well as Chief Operating Officer John C. Lechleiter is likely to replace Sidney Taurel

Regarding his retirement, Sidney Taurel clarifies that Eli Lilly's board of directors have fixed up dates of his retirement after initiating discussions with him and altogether they have decided that John C. Lechleiter would be a suitable candidate to substitute him as the 10th CEO of the company.
