On a complaint by a prostitute against Project Rehab counselor Artiss Williams that he inflicted severe physical torture on her at his home, the investigators took the accused under custody and had performed a thorough search at his house in which, knives, washcloths, sheets and a significant amount of the erectile dysfunction drug Cialis were unearthed. The police charged Artiss Williams with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, with four charges thrusting on him on account of the testimony given by the prostitute and other three counts due to another prostitute. If all these charges prove true, the culprit would be imprisoned for his whole life. Regarding the court charges, Artiss Williams` attorney Alida Bryant made it clear that her client indeed had sex with the prostitutes but not without consent. According to a statement provided to the jury by Assistant Kent County Prosecutor Helen Brinkman in Kent County Circuit Judge Donald Johnston's courtroom, Artiss Williams was considerably angry after being stood up by his girlfriend and this anger instigated him to inflict physical violence on the prostitutes. One of the prostitutes revealed that Artiss Williams drove her to his home where he raped her at knifepoint and then dropped her near her home. It became evident that after this incident, the accused set off for Wyoming and there committed the same crime with another prostitute. Source: http://www.mlive.com |
