In accordance with the Medicines act 1968, nine men, namely Ashish Halai, Rajendka Shah, Ketan Kishore Mehta, Gary Haywood, Georgio Patino, Nayna Ashish Halai, Ashwin Patel, Alpesh Patel and Zahid Mirza were accused of illegally trafficking the erectile dysfunction drugs Cialis and Viagra in 2003 and 2004. The cases are dragged to 2006 and they are scheduled to appear at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court on Monday, 8th January for the hearing. After the counterfeit versions of Viagra and Cialis are discovered in the British supply chain, an inquiry was initiated by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and this led to the nabbing of the accused. It is further known that the trial of the accused is about to last for eight weeks and that the men have denied the charge of conspirating to distribute fake medicines in the market.
